Preparing of the alloy
Most of the metal pipes are made from an alloy of lead and tin, and the percentage of this material ranges from 5% to 97%, according to the phonic and visual performance that have to be achieved.
The fusion takes place at about 300 degrees Celsius and under the discretion of the careful pipemaker's eye. A particular attention must be paid to the purity of the materials used and the entire merger process should be performed with the utmost care. The containers, the procedures of ignition and of maintaining of the temperature are key elements to obtain a solid metal that can provide the right resonance.
The ingots of tin and lead are made to melt into a melting pot.
